Meta Director+ Interview Program

Preparing for the Meta Director+ interview loop is as hard as the loop itself.

There is very little reliable guidance, and most interview preparation is built for more junior candidates.

The preparation problem

You have the experience. The hard part is knowing what to use, how to organize it, and how to prepare it for this loop.

Most Director+ candidates are not short on relevant material. They have too much of it. They may also be interviewing for the first time in years, while more junior candidates arrive after months of drills and dozens of mocks. More experience creates more ways to lose the thread.

Meta does not need you to perform like a junior candidate who has rehearsed a framework for months. It does need you to make years of judgment available quickly, at the right level of detail, and with a clear strategic point.

Project Retrospective

You have to sound senior without sounding removed from the work.

At this level, you may have set direction and shaped the organization without owning every operating detail day to day. The interview can still move anywhere: strategy, product decisions, execution, technical constraints, conflict, failure, results, and what actually happened on the ground. You need to move fluently between executive scope and the realities of the business—even where the details were not your everyday focus and may now feel rusty.

Executive Interview

Your whole career has to be interview-ready.

The interviewer can jump across years of work, then probe deeply into a decision, conflict, result, or claim. Polishing a handful of stories is not enough. You need a disciplined map of the most important evidence across your career—each example framed around the argument it proves—so the right information is at the top of your mind when the interview changes direction.

The standard loop

A perfect framework matters less. Senior-level analysis matters more.

Meta is not looking for a flawlessly rehearsed CIRCLES response from a Director. Some roughness in structure or delivery is acceptable; shallow strategic analysis is not. Product Sense and Execution answers must connect the product problem to market dynamics, the business model, company priorities, organizational constraints, and the consequences of the decision. A standard framework can organize the conversation, but it cannot supply that judgment.

Why this is a program

Each interview requires different preparation. Your time has to be allocated across all of them.

The Project Retrospective requires command of one project from executive premise to day-to-day detail. The Executive Interview requires rapid retrieval across a long career. Product Sense and Execution require deeper business analysis than standard frameworks provide.

The diagnostic tells us where you are already ready and where the preparation burden is concentrated. The remaining six sessions are allocated accordingly. That is more useful than buying isolated mocks before either of us knows which work matters most.

Why work with me

We can begin with your preparation, not the process.

I was a calibrated interviewer at Meta and saw the question banks and rubrics firsthand. I understand how the loop is structured, what each interview is designed to evaluate, and how expectations change at Director, Senior Director, and VP.

I have since coached hundreds of Meta candidates over several years, including dozens preparing for Director, Senior Director, and VP interviews. Direct calibration tells me how the process works; repeated coaching shows me where accomplished candidates actually struggle to prepare for it.

You will not need to spend your sessions explaining Meta’s process to me. We can use them to recover the right evidence, sharpen the analysis, and make your experience immediately available in the interview.

The engagement

Seven sessions, one individualized plan.

We begin with one diagnostic and planning session. Only then do we decide how to use the remaining six. They may include multiple sessions on the Project Retrospective or Executive Interview, work on Product Sense, Execution, or Leadership & Drive, targeted practice, and full or partial mocks.

The plan follows your experience, interview history, timing, and needs rather than forcing every candidate through the same curriculum.

01

Diagnose and plan

Assess readiness across the complete loop, identify the highest-impact preparation gaps, understand your timing, and produce the plan for the remaining six sessions.

02–07

Use the remaining six where they matter most

Allocate them across the Project Retrospective, Executive Interview, Product Sense, Execution, Leadership & Drive, full or partial mocks, and the priorities identified during the engagement.

Terms at a glance

Diagnostic fit guarantee

After the diagnostic, continue or exit within 48 hours. With no prior coaching credit, exiting returns $3,000. If prior coaching credit reduced your D+ checkout balance, the refund is the net amount you paid above the retained $500 diagnostic value. Continuing, scheduling session two, beginning the written review, or allowing the window to expire ends refund eligibility.

Scheduling

Schedule from generally available coaching times. We may also agree directly to another time when practical. This flexibility is best-efforts and does not guarantee priority, urgent availability, or availability before a specific interview date. Cancel at least 24 hours before a session to restore it; later cancellations and no-shows consume the session.

Written review

One candidate-produced Project Retrospective narrative or Executive Interview answer outline, submitted as a shareable Google Doc or PDF and limited to 2,500 words or 10 pages. The review is one consolidated pass, returned within two business days for an accessible, in-scope submission, subject to planned unavailability or circumstances outside reasonable control.

Email support

Send focused questions, ideas, or concerns between sessions. I generally aim to respond the same business day when a question is reasonably answerable by email, but this is not a guaranteed response-time SLA. Work requiring substantial review or discussion may move to the next live session.

Use sessions within 90 days

Your 90-day usage window begins when checkout is completed, including when prior coaching credit covers the full base price. Use all live sessions and submit the written review during that window. If you make reasonable efforts to schedule but I cannot provide a reasonable opportunity, I will extend the window.

Outcomes

Coaching is educational preparation. I do not guarantee an interview result, offer, level, compensation, or other hiring outcome.

Questions

Who is this for?

Candidates actively preparing for a Meta Product Director, Senior Director, or VP interview loop. Meta IC candidates and candidates in ordinary people-manager loops should use general coaching.

Why is this a seven-session program?

The diagnostic establishes the preparation plan. The remaining six sessions give us enough room to prepare the Project Retrospective and Executive Interview while addressing Product Sense, Execution, Leadership & Drive, or other needs revealed by the work.

Are the six remaining sessions assigned in advance?

No. At least one Project Retrospective session and one Executive Interview session are the default planning model, not a rigid allocation. You may use multiple sessions on either format or direct more time to another priority identified in the plan.

I already completed coaching sessions with MJ. Do those count?

Yes. Amounts actually paid for completed 1:1 coaching sessions with MJ through Product Simply apply dollar-for-dollar toward the $3,500 D+ base price. Product Simply calculates the credit from completed-session records at checkout. The credit does not reduce the seven D+ sessions.

What does the written review cover?

One candidate-produced Project Retrospective narrative or Executive Interview answer outline, submitted as a shareable Google Doc or PDF and limited to 2,500 words or 10 pages. The review is one consolidated pass, returned within two business days for an accessible, in-scope submission, subject to planned unavailability or circumstances outside reasonable control.

What does email support include?

Focused, considered questions that help move the preparation forward. It is not continuous access, urgent interview-day support, unlimited rewriting, or a general advisory retainer.

Is the course included?

Yes. Paid or fully credited enrollment includes lifetime PM Interview Course and AI Coach access at no additional charge ($97 value).
